AVI works closely with government and non-government organizations (NGOs)
AVI search for cooperation with individuals, societies and agencies that work for similar projects around the world, who can recruit volunteers to support our endeavours of social development.
AVI has decided to support a village named Banjara Basti with a population of over 2 500. It is situated near the town Sikar in Rajasthan and the people here really belong to the less privileged populations of India. We support them by “help them to help themselves!”
AVI works with projects like day care centers and schools and with activities relating to empowerment of women, health awareness, mentally challenged children, sports and recreation, renovation of schools etc.
AVI is responsible for the volunteers being accompanied and supported by English speaking program executives at all times for translation and other communication. This ensures total comfort and safety for the volunteers and provides them with better opportunities for cross cultural exchange by always being together with the local people not as a traveller but as their fellow resident.
AVI´s volunteers work in Banjara Basti from Monday to Friday at least for 15 to 20 hours a week in the first half of the day and participate in other activities- lessons about India, cultural workshops like Yoga, henna painting, Indian cooking, Indian dressing and Hindi language classes in the afternoon.AVI also ensures that the maximum benefit goes to the community in need while enriching the volunteers by huge experiences!
On weekends, AVI offers to its participants, local excursions that are unique and of great cultural and scenic beauty. India is full of diversities and there is a lot to see and experience in its culture. Volunteers have possibility to do excursions by their own on Saturdays and Sundays.
